Coming the from the land of Lil Rock, Arkansas and relocating himself in Los Angeles, Goon Des Garcons has grown to be an independent act who’s climbed the ladder of the ranks in his city and now has been featured on All Def Digital, BReal TV, and had one of his singles, “Back on The Road” on Netflix Original Movie, “Take The 10” featuring Josh Peck.

At first sight, the cover read, to me, as: “Let that sh*t go, it’s good for you”. Aminé stared back at me from the cover somewhat challenging my assumption of meaning from his art direction. So sitting down to listen, I kept my initial thought in mind, and naturally hoped I had foreseen the tone of the project I was about to review.

Featuring production from artists such as GTA, SOPHIE, and Flume, elements of house, trap, and Detroit techno are peppered throughout the project. Although the risks do net heaps of rewards, there are times that it seems as though Staples is purposefully trying to have the production take the spotlight.
