When it comes to the Northeast, Connecticut is not the ideal places for all things that are hip. Yes you have had flashes of talent with the likes of Dertbag erupting the streetwear scene, The Unico 1990 throwing some of the first live events with ASAP Ant and Robb Banks in the past, and Trius Garments blessing the world with the “Emotional Unavailable” hats. Since then, the scene there has continued to grow and you see that with buzzing artist K$ubi Kayy. The designer influenced artist delivers the modern cutthroat rhymes about his life, his path to success, and willingness to push the limits at all costs on his latest project, “The K$ubi Effect”. The 13 track project features an aura that’s filed with lavish flows, aspects of real life, and ultimately wanting to live forever and it’s displayed in the overall sound he provides on this project. It’s a smooth introduction to what the CT music scene has to offer and why you want to keep a close eye on what he has under his sleeve.
