St. Louis savior, Smino comes back with maturity in his soulful sound on his new project, "NOIR"
Written by Greg Harris
In an artist’s timeline over his/her career, as an listener, you want to see the growth of their artistry but also see them create flawless music with their close colleagues in sound. Ever since Smino has emerged onto the national scene, he’s followed his own route of success and as he shown the nation with his breakthrough project, “blkswn”, he crafts together a more mature piece of music on his new project, “NOIR”.
Showing advance levels of artistry in “blkswn”, seeing the range within sounds from “Anita” to “Glass Flows” to “Amphetamine”, it established not only album but him as an artist that make a digestible project that can have a high-replay value. It seems like Smino seen that work and perfected his formula and turned things up a notch in the areas of songwriting and structuring the production behind the music on “NOIR”. The 18-track project is a smooth yet interesting ride that Smino presses different buttons on to intrigue the ride and make it memorable.
As I would like to tell you more of my personal favorites, I rather recommend for you to take your own experience in account on this one. Enjoy the new album below.
