Emerging Houston artist, LIX delivers nostalgic internet pop on her new analog inspired project, "LIX4NGEL5"
Written by Greg Harris
The Houston music scene is one that is so versatile at this moment, you can’t pin-point where the inspiration is coming from when it comes to nucleus of the city’s sonics. Some of the impressive acts that are coming up are growing in the new indie sector of the city’s sound. One of the leading artists in the area that has grown her own fan base in the process is LIX.
Emerging in the ranks of the new Houston sound that includes the likes of BBY Kodie, Prada Staxx, Paris Aden, UglysinceBirth, and more, LIX provides a nostalgic analog girl sound that incorporates the glitters and flashes from your favorite Tumblr chick to embodying the complicated sounds of the internet in her music. In the midst of releasing singles that resonate with her fan base, she provides a short but cohesive body of work called “LIX4NGEL5”. Pronounced “LIX Angles”, she provides a debut effort that gives listeners an inside scope of where she’s coming from under 20 minutes and it’s certainly a piece of work that has replay value that will have all the internet shawties playing it back to back.
Check out the new body of work below.
