The Los Angeles music scene has been one that has rejuvenated itself back to a place of prominence and Inglewood’s own Rucci is one of the key factors in the West Side making it’s re-emergence. Coming off the heels of making a partnership with EMPIRE, the growing California rapper made a high energy but heart fealt project called “Tako’s Son”. The versatile ode to his father is something compelling that shows the highs, lows, and reprise in Rucci’s lifetime.

On the streets of Inglewood, only one name rang louder than the constant din of the jets overhead, Tako. Not a rapper nor an athlete, his exploits were infamous, sparking admiration and fear amongst gangs, citizens and police alike. But infamy begets prosecution.

It resonates on a level where Suge and Pac was roaming the streets of LA during the days of Death Row but shines a light with originality given Rucci’s Hispanic and African-American background. While there has been past bodies of work by Rucci that has been well, this brings his material to a new stage where it’ll live for years to come.
