YL, Starker, and Zoomo unite to create a crazy trifecta effect on "RRR: The Album"
Written by Greg Harris
If you wanted to take a time capsule and visit the essence of pure NYC hip-hop from the mid 90s to the early 2000s, you'll love the sounds of Triple R or pronounce "RRR". This collective compiles the slick rhymes of YL, the knife cutting lyricism of Starker, and the prolific soundtrack by the maestro, Zoomo. This trio works together as cohesive as the San Antonio Spurs in their heyday, where everyone does their job but they shine in their own light while still helping each other.
It shows so much on their newest body of work, their album "RRR: The Album". This new album gathers of the essence of the Wallabee rap but it goes further than that with establishing their own lane in the space of the NYC vast music scene at the moment. While others are focused on the NY Drill Scene, but this trio is turning the city on their head with their different approach to what the city is bringing but also rekindling the elements of the classic sound that helped build New York City. Some of the favorites on the project are songs such as "Gilbert Arenas", "Allergic To Broke", "R.E.O.", "Digits", and more. These songs and other goes to show it's a new wave erupting in the city and it's only a matter of time that more people catch their tide.
