The Testimony of Flava God: How Rizzoo Rizzoo's Progression Will Paint His Legacy
Written by Greg Harris
The Sauce Familia is easily one of the most influential collectives that swept the Lone Star in quite some time. The symmetry built by Sauce Walka unified the new era of Houston music with aligning the likes of 5th Ward JP, Voochie P, Big Baby Flava, Sosamann, and many others. The selection of artists in the collective has made them a viable threat, and one of the most consistent artists who’s been outworking the competition is North Houston’s own Rizzoo Rizzoo.
The self-proclaimed Flava God got his feet wet with a course of hook driven hit singles such as “Flava in Ya Ear”, “Off The Lot”, and “Drip” to just name a few but since then he’s fully grown into his artistry and created a new signature flow that Lone Star state fans can enjoy listening to. Aside from his premier skill drawing in talent such as 21 Savage, Lil Uzi Vert, YFN Lucci, and more, he developed a signature sound and brand process for his newer work. Starting at the point of his latest full mixtape release, “Rario World”, it gave the world some insight on he’s improved as a rapper but also still implement his tastemaking when it comes to hits as well.
The project featured the likes of the DaBaby, Sauce Walka, and Bandgang Lonnie Bands, but the 12 track body of work was a true testament to how the rapper can go from infectious bangers, street testimonies, and radio friendly jams all on one mixtape. This effort and the dynamic duo he’s created with Texas City emerging star, Peso Peso with their “Flow” series has shine a new light on the “Nawfside Huncho”.
As much as the music has played a part of his resurgence on the national forefront, but his effort in the branding and activation has helped a lot as well. Under his imprint, “Itz Hot Sauce” he’s delivered the favorable “Rario” logo to new grounds to a series of pop-up shops with the likes of Richmond Studios, Homme Boutique in Katy Mills Mall, Pink Dolphin in Los Angeles, and other venues as well. His understanding of blending the elements of the music with outside advertising has further him along the path and allowed to succeed in different spaces besides his normal demographic.
The full process of making something shake can take some time but due to Rizzoo’s test of time and persistence it’s allowed him to reach new heights he hasn’t touched in the past. Having this type of this attitude only ensures that there is no limit to what you can do, and it certainly embodies what kind of legacy he will build as time moves on.
